About the event
A year ago, the premiere of the modern Ukrainian opera "Embroidered. The King of Ukraine", which was called a landmark opera of the time of Independence.
The libretto is based on the real story of Wilhelm von Habsburg-Lorraine, a descendant of the most influential monarchical dynasty in Europe, who was called Vasyl the Embroidered and was considered a likely contender for the Ukrainian throne.
Vasyl Vyshivany became a national hero of the new Ukraine.
On the occasion of the anniversary of the premiere, libretto author Serhiy Zhadan and project producer Oleksandra Sayenko discuss their impressions and share the ingredients of creative cuisine with Oksana Forostyna, journalist, writer, translator, Europe's Future Fellow at IWM.
The exciting conversation will be accompanied by wine from one of the best Ukrainian winemakers Serhiy Stakhovsky and dishes from the GRND&SCHRNK restaurant.
